Condyloma acuminatum usually occurrs on the mucous membrane or skin of the external genitals or in the perianal region; although the lesions are usually few in number, they may group to form large cauliflower-like masses. Caused by the human papilloma virus, it is infectious, and autoinoculable.

The condition is characterized by lobulated hyperplastic epidermal growths with a horny or flat surface caused by a human papillomavirus, transmitted by contact or autoinoculation, and usually occurring on the fingers, hands, soles, and face.
