The condition is characterized by a lobulated hyperplastic epidermal lesion with a horny surface caused by a human papillomavirus, acquired by contact or autoinoculation, and usually occurring on the dorsa of the fingers and hands (also called verruga.) It may be also any nonviral poliferation looking like this lesion.
